Research projects, laboratory course, case study

The MSc program in Chemical and Bioengineering includes a research project, the laboratory course in chemical engineering, and the case study in process design.

Subjects and supervision
The research projects is carried out under the supervision of a professor in a core subject area, or in a elective subject. Exceptions upon approval by the director of studies.

Laboratory courses and research projects done during the BSc program
Students enrolled in the bachelor's program in chemical engineering of ETH are admitted to research projects, the laboratory course and the case study before graduation from the BSc program on condition that they have to acquire less than 60 credits for their bachelor's diploma.

Who must submit a request to the director of studies?
Students who wish to carry out their research project

• in a subject area other than a core subject area or a compulsory elective subject, or/and
• outside the ETH

must submit a request to the Director of Studies at least four weeks ahead of the scheduled start using the official application form (pdf). Please fill out the shaded fields in this form online.
