Application

 

Who can apply?

All PhD-students of the Department of Chemistry and Applied Biosciences (D-CHAB) at ETH Zurich during the first year of graduate school. The scholarship is intended to support awardees from the second through the fourth year.

Every year, four students will be selected for a Scholarship Fund of the Swiss Chemical Industry. Apart from having one more award in their CV, the awardees benefit especially from an early and important exchange with the industry.

The next application period is in summer 2011. The deadline is July 31, 2011.

 

How to apply?

Students submit a complete nomination package, written in English and consisting of :

• Cover letter

• Curriculum vitae with photograph

• Research summary that includes an abstract, suitably detailed research outline (max. 5 pages)

• Listing of Master/Diploma/BSc grades

• Letter of reference from the faculty mentor

 

Selection Procedure:

A committee consisting of professors of D-CHAB and a representative of each partner company is responsible for the selection. The nomination packages will be evaluated on account of the candidate's qualifications and the scientific content.
