Public Relations

Main content

The person responsible for public relations work of D-CHAB wants to supply things to know from chemistry and pharmacy not only for members of ETH Zurich but also for Alumni, school classes with their teachers, media and everybody who is interested.

For that reason during the year various events for the public are organized like the “Diskussionsforen”, the “Day of Open Labs” (TOL) and for younger children afternoons with experiments.

On occasion articles are published and guidances and lectures offered around the chemical and pharmaceutical collections and the medicinal plants garden.

Our events are free. We are looking forward to seeing you.

Please note that the section Public Relations is only available in German:

Our interdisciplinary “Diskussionsforen” Diskussionsforen@Collegium Helveticum & D-CHAB deal with topics from chemistry and other natural sciences, medicine and pharmacy in correlation with architecture, history, religion, philosophy, politics, art, music, environment or technology.
All are invited for information and discussion with the present experts.

Day of Open Labs

Since 2012 we offer one “Day of Laboratories” (TOL) yearly in the time after the Spring Semester.

The public is invited to see different laboratories, the infocenter and the collections of D-CHAB to learn about our latest research in chemistry and pharmacy. Also six lectures of our professors about highlights of their exciting research areas and a fulminant experimental show may be visited.

For Highschools and Children

For school classes and their teachers we offer the TOL, the “Maturandeninformationstage” and for younger children at the age of seven to eleven two experimental afternoons. For highschool chemistry teachers also an information day will be organized when required.

The yearly “Ruzicka-Prize” (medal, official document, money) handed over by the Vice President Research and Corporate Relations of ETH Zurich is awarded to a young talented researcher who is selected by the Ruzicka-Prize Committee.
