Prof. Roger Schibli is a Professor at the Department of Chemistry and Applied Biosciences (ETH Zurich) and Head of the Center for Radiopharmaceutical Science (CRS), a collaboration between ETH Zurich and the Paul Scherrer Institute, since 2010. Prof. Schibli studied chemistry at the University of Basel, Switzerland, and conducted his doctoral research at the Paul Scherrer Institute from 1993 to 1996. After graduation, he spent two years as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Missouri-Columbia, MO. In 2004, he was appointed Assistant Professor (tenure track) of Therapeutic Technologies at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (ETH Zurich) and was elected Associate Professor at ETH Zurich in 2009.

Prof. Schibli's research interestscover targeted tumor diagnosis and therapy using radiolabeled compounds. Apart from the chemical modification and radioactive labeling of molecules, his group emphasizes on the biological and pharmacological characterization and optimization of the radioactive compounds including non-invasive PET and SPET imaging. New, medically relevant radionuclides for his pre-clinical and clinical studies are produced at the cyclotron and neutron facilities of the ETH and the Paul Scherrer Institute.
