Co-operation with Industry

Baiker had research co-operations with many industrial partners, including Alusuisse, BASF, Ciba-Geigy, Novartis, Degussa, DuPont, Hoffmann-La Roche, Lonza, Sandoz, Sulzer, and Umicore. Beside the elucidation of several fundamental aspects beneficial for the development of catalytic processes, six main areas can be identified where the Baiker group contributed to the development of new or improved catalysts or synthetic processes applied in industry. This is reflected in several patents assigned to various companies (see patents in Downloadpublication list (PDF, 685 KB)). The areas where Baiker’s research brought industrially applied catalysts or processes are: Catalytic Amination, Epoxidation of Olefins, Enantioselective Hydrogenation, Aerobic Alcohol Oxidation, Environmental Catalysis, Catalytic Processes in Supercritical Carbon Dioxide.
